The agreement
enables patients of state-run hospitals and health facilities using “Hakim”, an
automated healthcare system, to order monthly medicines through the drug
delivery service on the Hakim’ application.
The Jordan Post
will then deliver special parcels of medicine to patients at fixed fees that
are paid electronically without the need to visit the health centers, according
to a press release.
The new service
includes 17 health facilities, including the main Al Bashir Hospital and health
centers and clinics in Amman’s various districts. More health facilities will
be added at a later stage.
The agreement will
save patients the time and effort, as they can easily order their medication
online, which reaches them quickly and safely, said EHS CEO Omar Ibrahim, who
signed the agreement with Jordan Post Director Khaled Al-Laham.
Laham noted that
the home delivery of medication, particularly to the elderly, will spare them
the effort to go to health facilities to fetch their medication. He added that
Jordan Post offers quality postal, logistical, and financial services in line
with global standards, which adopted new business approaches, including the
delivery of medicines to patients on their addresses in cooperation with the
health sector.
This service is an
added value to Jordan Post, Laham said.
