Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Hunaifat noted that olive oil sales within the festival amounted to JD1.3 million, while contractual sales outside the festival totaled JD200,000. Additional sales of rural products, dates, and honey reached JD1.9 million, with JD100,000 in contractual sales for the same products outside the festival.

The minister highlighted that 218 tons of olive oil were sold during this year’s festival, marking an increase compared to 174 tons in 2023 and 168 tons in 2022. He attributed this year’s success to the inclusion of honey and dates in collaboration with the Jordanian Beekeepers Syndicate, the Jordanian Beekeepers Union, and the Jordanian Dates Association.

A notable feature of this year’s festival was the implementation of "electronic tracking" technology through a specialized company. Each package of olive oil or honey carried a QR code with detailed product information and test results, ensuring product authenticity and quality.

The festival drew 361,000 visitors, according to "Sial" smart technology solutions. Hunaifat attributed the increase in attendance to the festival’s strong reputation and the public’s trust in the quality and credibility of its products.

The minister noted that the festival now supplies around 20 percent of Amman’s olive oil demand. He emphasized the significance of contractual sales, which amounted to 29 tons of olive oil this year.

Product quality tests revealed that 84 percent of the olive oil was classified as "extra virgin," 12 percent as "virgin," and 4 percent as "ordinary virgin." No instances of olive oil fraud were detected, although lower-quality oil was excluded from the festival.

Looking ahead, Hunaifat expressed the ministry’s intention to expand the festival internationally, particularly to Gulf countries, given its success in empowering rural families and improving their livelihoods.
