AMMAN —
Minister of Agriculture, Khalid Hneifat, announced
the successful completion of wage and contract negotiations with the private
sector for the cultivation of 36,000 dunums in the regions of
Al-Sarhan and Al-Hammad.

According to Hala News, Hneifat revealed that 10
agricultural stations have been entrusted to the private sector. These stations
will serve as agricultural training beacons, providing specialized knowledge
and resources in their respective areas.
Private sector partnership
Minister Hneifat further disclosed a partnership with the
private sector aimed at establishing two factories in the
Southern Jordan Valley.
The progress of these initiatives has reached an impressive
completion rate of 70–80 percent thus far.
Additionally, the
Ministry of Agriculture has inked six
agreements for the construction of factories in different industrial areas,
supported by their funding over a five-year period. Notably, these agreements
offer financing of half a million dinars at a reduced interest rate of 2.5
percent specifically for food manufacturing.
National Sustainable Agriculture Plan
Highlighting the significance of collaboration between the
public and private sectors, Minister Hneifat underscored the
National Sustainable Agriculture Plan.
Comprising a total of 72 initiatives, this plan emphasizes
the joint efforts of the government and private enterprises, with 57
initiatives being executed in partnership with the private sector.
