JHCO said in a statement on Sunday that the project targeted 1,000
underprivileged Jordanian families, as well as Palestinian and Syrian refugees
in the Kingdom.
The project, which lasted for two weeks, distributed parcels to beneficiaries
in the capital Amman, and the governorates of Ajloun, Irbid, Jerash, Karak and
Zarqa, which contained 19 basic foodstuff items.
Coordination has been made with social development offices, charities and the
Department of Palestinian Affairs to reach the beneficiaries, the statement said.
Mahmoud Ismail, MATW CEO, said the food parcels project is an extension of
JHCO's initiatives which aim at providing material and in-kind assistance to
poor and needy families in various regions.
MATW provides various aid packages through charitable and seasonal projects,
healthcare and orphan sponsorship programs, he said, adding that these JHCO
campaigns and initiatives continue throughout the year.
Names of poor and needy families and orphans were selected within approved and
accurate data, he noted.
JHCO Secretary-General
Hussein Shibli said the organization welcomes new
partnerships to raise needy households' living standards, hailing MATW's role
for the donations, which reduce the economic burden on the beneficiaries.
