Airport Customs Office thwarts smuggling attempt of 201 iPhones

AMMAN — A media spokesperson said that the Airport Customs Office recently seized 201 iPhones from three people arriving from Middle East countries.

The phones were allegedly in the possession of three female passengers coming from neighboring countries, according to the spokesperson. However, the customs office added that the passengers had failed to disclose that they had the devices, even though they were found strapped to their bodies during a security check.

The devices were returned to the passengers after they paid the required fees and fines, according to the spokesperson.
