The department's director, Akram Al-Atoom, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Sunday that archaeological work at the site revealed the unique mosaic floors.
A specialized archaeological team conducted documentation and photography of the floors before starting the process of cleaning the area surrounding the discovered churches.
Al-Atoom explained that the team re-covered the floors after completing the cleaning process to protect them from weather conditions and climate fluctuations.
He emphasized that these efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to preserve the archaeological heritage, which dates back to the Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic periods and serves as a testament to the site's historical and cultural richness.
