Organized by the Irada, a national initiative focused on improving Jordanians' productivity, in collaboration with the Governorate's Youth Directorate, Ajloun National University, and JAIP Company, the hackathon aims to develop technical solutions and innovative ideas from youth to address the increasing challenges in tourism and sustainable agriculture.

This first edition of the hackathon highlights the role of innovation and technology in advancing the tourism and agricultural sectors by creating solutions to enhance agricultural production efficiency and improve the tourism experience.

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department at the Irada Initiative invited young people to register for the hackathon through a dedicated platform to submit their ideas. Out of 206 submissions, 35 participants met the criteria and were selected for the hackathon training workshop. A specialized committee will later evaluate the most promising ideas and solutions, selecting the winning projects in each hackathon category.

The training workshop serves as a preliminary stage before the Ajloun Hackathon, aiming to develop participants' skills, encourage innovation, and refine their ideas. The three-day training program, designed and organized by JAIP Company, culminates in the evaluation of presented ideas. A specialized jury will then select the top three ideas, with winners receiving cash prizes.

Winners will continue to receive support from the Irada Initiative through a comprehensive range of advisory services and intensive programs, including training, follow-up, guidance, workshops, and networking with supporting entities, business accelerators, and incubators, to help transform their ideas into practical projects and innovations.

The Ajloun Tourism and Sustainable Agriculture Hackathon features significant participation from leading experts and innovators, including entrepreneurs, technical idea owners, designers, and stakeholders in the tourism and agricultural sectors. This event takes place at a critical time for these sectors, which are vital for supporting the local economy and achieving sustainable development.

Irada, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, is managed and implemented by the Royal Scientific Society.

The initiative aims to develop local communities, improve citizens' living conditions, and reduce poverty and unemployment by providing advisory and training services and fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among those wishing to establish micro, small, and medium enterprises. This effort is intended to improve incomes, raise living standards, and contribute to overall economic development in local communities.
