Ajloun– Ali Fritat – The Environment Directorate in Ajloun Governorate contributed to achieving a series of notable accomplishments throughout the past year, which included many activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and protecting natural resources in the governorate.اضافة اعلان

The Director of Environmental Protection in the governorate, Engineer Nizar Haddad, stated that the directorate carried out 86 diverse awareness activities, including lectures, exhibitions, environmental theater, awareness videos, as well as painting environmental murals, distributing waste bags, and providing waste bins and metal baskets.

He pointed out that the directorate participated in 32 environmental and national events, including celebrations of Arbor Day. The directorate successfully planted 750 trees in 15 schools, 1,000 trees in the Rock Park, and 3,000 trees in cooperation with local associations.

Haddad explained that the directorate launched prominent community environmental initiatives such as "Ajloun, Land of Oak and Olive," "Preserving the Blessing" for the "I Belong to My School" program, and "Keep Your Bag in Your Pocket," which aim to raise awareness and foster community participation in protecting the environment.

The directorate also distributed 34,000 environmentally friendly waste bags, produced 2,010 pencil cases from recycled materials, and created 2,405 magical cups carrying awareness messages.

He noted that the technical section of the directorate conducted 206 environmental inspections, issued 16 environmental licenses, followed up on 266 tankers, and addressed 81 environmental complaints.

The directorate also halted 59 illegal activities and closed 33 non-compliant establishments.

Additionally, Haddad highlighted the issuance of 308 transactions and the receipt of 300 transactions. He also mentioned the implementation of the Rock Park project, which covers 8 dunams and cost 40,000 Jordanian dinars.

He emphasized the directorate's commitment to continuing its efforts to enhance local environmental protection and spread environmental awareness in collaboration with all relevant community entities and institutions.
