Ajloun’s new public hospital off to a strong start — director

AMMAN — Doctors at Al-Iman Government Hospital in Ajloun Governorate have performed 300 surgeries since the opening of its new premises a month ago, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. They included gastrointestinal, ear, and bone surgeries. The hospital director, Mohamad Freihat, called the services offered "a quantum leap". He said the health facility receives 400–450 patients daily, and will work toward conducting all kinds of surgeries by getting new equipment and medical staff to accommodate the growing number of patients and offer them the best services. Freihat said that new digestive tract and forensic medicine clinics have opened and a thoracic internal medicine clinic will open next week as part of the hospital's expansion plans. People in Ajloun Governorate had asked for an acceleration of the third phase of the hospital project, including for demolishing the old building to secure parking space and ease overcrowding.
