AMMAN — Police on Wednesday said it had arrested a suspect, who appeared in a
video while smashing a traffic light in the northern Governorate of Ajloun, 55
km north of Amman.
The arrest was made Monday, said a police statement carried by the Jordan
News Agency, Petra. He was charged with "destroying and causing material
damage to a traffic light in Ajloun Governorate, an incident that was
documented in a video circulated on social media platforms."
The statement said that the person appeared to be suffering from mental disorders, as he was referred to the administrative governor, and was
transferred to a psychiatric hospital for treatment.
