AMMAN — The
Jordanian Media Credibility Monitor (Akeed)
identified 25
rumors circulating in August via local media,
social platforms,
and apps. In its recent report, Akeed highlighted debunking 25 rumors, a rise
from July's 19, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported. Public affairs
rumors led at 28 percent, health at 20 percent, economic/political at 16 percent,
security at 12 percent, and social at 8 percent. Of August's rumors, 92 percent
(23) originated locally from sources like social media and news sites. Among
these, 56 percent (14) were from local
social media and 44 percent (11) from
traditional media outlets.
