The regulations, which were issued based on the Civil Aviation Law No. 41 of 2007 and its amendments, aim to regulate the licensing, manufacturing, and operation of drones through a comprehensive legal and security framework that ensures national security enhancement and the development of economic sectors associated with the use of these drones.

The new regulations will allow the use of drones in areas such as tourism marketing, agricultural crop monitoring, and managing delivery operations and logistics services.

The licenses will also cover manufacturing, trade, and maintenance sectors, providing significant opportunities for both local and international companies to invest in this growing sector.

In this context, experts emphasize that this step aligns with the national direction towards a digital economy, where the information technology sector is one of the key areas upon which Jordan relies to create new job opportunities and support the national economy.

This initiative reflects the emphasis of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince on the importance of this sector in enhancing digital transformation, improving services for citizens, and achieving the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision, which aims to increase the revenues of the information and communications technology sector to 3.9 billion dinars by 2033, create 101,000 jobs in this field, and boost exports to reach 4.5 billion dinars.

For its part, the Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority confirmed that these regulations will have a positive impact on the national economy by creating new job opportunities in manufacturing, maintenance, training, and logistics services, as well as stimulating the emerging digital business environment in the Kingdom.

The Authority also pointed out that the introduction of drones into agricultural and industrial operations will contribute to improving performance efficiency and reducing operational costs, particularly in large infrastructure projects and surveying and monitoring operations.

These regulations are expected to represent a qualitative leap in organizing this sector in Jordan, creating an attractive legal environment for investment, and providing flexible and secure frameworks for businesses and individuals, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Kingdom's economic and digital development goals.
