The session
emphasized the necessity of collaboration between export promotion
organizations and those that give grants and subsidies to assist Jordanian
companies in increasing exports.
The chamber
said in a statement that the session’s participants discussed priorities for
the upcoming two years to help Jordanian companies in the industrial and
service sectors recover from the challenges caused by
COVID-19 through
leveraging Jordanian-American trade.
Fathi
Al-Jaghbir, head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, said in the
statement that the US-Jordan Free Trade Agreement is one of Jordan’s most
effective trade agreements in terms of trade volume, smooth administrative
processes, and low bureaucracy.
The discussion
was part of a 12-month series of events and activities to mark the 20th
anniversary of the Jordan-US Free Trade Agreement, which came into force in
2001, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The US is
Jordan’s top export market as over 20 percent of Jordan’s global goods exports
go to the US.
