AMMAN — CEO of Amman Vision,
Ala’a-Eddin Beano, has announced the launch of 13 new routes for the Amman bus
in the coming two weeks as part of the second phase of the Amman bus project.

According to Al-Mamlaka TV, Beano
stated that seven of the new routes will be launched on March 12, with the
remaining six launching on March 19.
These routes will bring the total
number of routes in the second phase of the project to 23, as the company has
already launched 10 routes last Thursday and Tuesday.
Increased bus routesThe second phase of the project includes
the launch of ten new routes, three of which were launched last Thursday, with
seven more on Tuesday.
The total number of routes between
the first and second phases will now be 41, with a total of 271 buses
operating, including fast frequency buses that will be in operation on three
routes.
Expanded bus networkPrime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh
launched the first trips of the second phase of the Amman bus project on Thursday
from the Sweileh station. The launch includes 136 new buses covering 23 new
routes.
The length of the new Amman bus
route network is 480km, double the length of the original network, expanding to
870km in total.
The operating contract for the first
and second phases of the project will cost JD125 million and will be in
operation for five years.
