Amman– A delegation from the Amman Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors has been briefed on Dubai's experience in organizing the Dubai Shopping Festival, which has contributed to enhancing the city's status as a leading tourism and commercial destination.

During a meeting with Ahmed Al Khaja, Executive Director of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, Amman Chamber of Commerce President Khalil Al Haj Tawfiq emphasized that the Chamber seeks to establish a partnership with Dubai's institution to benefit from the Emirati experience and organize an annual shopping festival in Amman, starting this summer.
According to a statement from the Chamber, Al Haj Tawfiq explained that the aim of hosting the festival is to activate commercial, tourism, investment, and cultural activities in Amman and other cities in Jordan, attracting new investments and international brands, supporting entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and small-to-medium enterprises, and generating new job opportunities.
During the meeting, which was attended by the First Vice President of the Chamber, Nabil Al Khateeb, Chamber Board Member Falah Al Saghir, and the Consul General of Jordan in Dubai, Asim Ababneh, Al Haj Tawfiq highlighted that Amman is well-positioned to become a shopping, entertainment, and tourism hub for Arab families.
He also noted that the various programs to be implemented by the higher organizing committee of the Amman Shopping Festival, chaired by Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Engineer Yarub Al Qudah, will encompass the country's diverse tourist, archaeological, commercial, and cultural sites.
For his part, Al Khaja expressed full readiness to provide all necessary support to the Amman Chamber of Commerce to enable it to organize its first annual shopping festival, highlighting the logistical and marketing support that could be provided to ensure the success of the event.
