Amman - The Amman Chamber of Commerce issued Certificates of Origin documenting exports worth JD 1.276 billion during the first 11 months of 2024, showing a slight decrease from JD 1.288 billion in the same period last year.اضافة اعلان

The total number of certificates issued rose by 8.9 percent to 36,342, up from 33,379 in the previous year, according to statistics obtained by Jordan News Agency (Petra).

Saudi Arabia emerged as the top destination for certified exports with 10,869 certificates, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 3,892, Iraq with 2,493, Egypt with 1,086, and Switzerland with 25 certificates.

However, in terms of export value, Iraq led with JD 645 million, while Saudi Arabia recorded JD 108 million, Egypt JD 96 million, the UAE JD 75 million, and Switzerland approximately JD 50 million.

The export composition showed re-exports dominating at JD 639 million, followed by industrial products at JD 270 million, agricultural products at JD 177 million, and Arab-origin products at JD 83 million, with the remainder spread across other categories.

Certificates of Origin serve as essential trade documents verifying the country where goods were produced, manufactured, or processed.

The Amman Chamber issues these certificates for various categories including agricultural products, livestock, raw materials, and re-exported foreign goods, as well as for industrial products upon verification of proper documentation from relevant industrial authorities.

This certification process operates under Article 29 of the Jordanian Chambers of Commerce Regulation No. 45 of 2009 and the Certificate of Origin directives of 2013.
