Amman: Launching of the Ramadan Cannon from Al-Nakheel Square

The Greater Amman Municipality has announced that the Ramadan cannon will be launched from Al-Nakheel Square in the Ras Al-Ain area, coinciding with the Maghrib call to prayer throughout the holy month of Ramadan. Dr. Nasser Al-Rahmanah, the media spokesperson for the municipality, stated that the launch of the Ramadan cannon, for which all necessary arrangements and preparations have been made at the site, comes with the goal of reviving Amman's old heritage. The cannon has historically been a key symbol of life during Ramadan, used to announce the time for Iftar.
