Before
Israel’s war on Gaza, Misto noted that the number of
weekly flights between Amman and Tel Aviv ranged from 15 to 18 flights. He
added that a majority of these flights were “transit” through
Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), allowing Palestinians from the 1948 territories to perform Umrah, in
addition to accommodating travelers to Thailand and the US, Al-Mamlaka TV
reported.
Despite US strikes on the
Houthis in Yemen, flight
operations between Amman and Sanaa continue with six flights per week,
according to Misto, managed by Yemeni Airlines.
Houthi fighters have declared that Sana’a and the cities of
Hodeidah and Saada were targeted by strikes from US and British forces,
according to the official Telegram account of the Houthi Ansarullah movement.
The
US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced on October
19, 2023, that a US destroyer had intercepted three land-to-land missiles and
several drones launched by the Houthis in Yemen, "possibly aimed at
targets in Israel," in the Red Sea.
The Houthis in Yemen have repeatedly proclaimed the launch
of a batch of drones and missiles at various Israeli targets in occupied
Palestine. Additionally, on November 19, 2023, the Houthis stated that they had
seized an Israeli ship and towed it to the Yemeni coast.
