rate of 80 percent, according to a local media outlet.
Importance of project
During the tour, Abuelsamen emphasized the importance of the
developmental and economic project, as it has a positive impact on improving
and developing the public transportation system, which reflects positively on
the services provided to citizens.
He directed the necessity of completing the main works in
the project and providing the ministry with periodic reports on the progress of
the work in the project and any obstacles that hinder the progress, in order to
find an immediate solution that contributes to completing the works within the
specified timeframes.
Construction details
The BRT project includes the construction of two lanes in
the middle of the road to serve the fast bus movements in both directions
(Amman–Zarqa). It also includes widening and reconstruction of the road that
serves vehicles with at least three lanes in both directions, in addition to
the construction of entirely new bridges and tunnels and raising the service
level at intersections.
Additionally, it will see the installation of pedestrian
bridges, retaining walls, drainage facilities for rainwater and sewage, as well
as lighting, traffic safety, necessary diversions, and removal of various
obstacles, including water lines, communications, electricity cables, and many
other necessary works according to the highest internationally recognized
engineering standards.
