AMMAN — About 400 publishers from Jordan,
the
Arab region, and the world have signed up to the Amman International Book
Fair, which will run from September 1 through September 10, organizers
announced on Wednesday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The organizers said that the exhibition will feature
recreational activities, story reading for children and young adults, poetry
recitals, storytelling, and cultural seminars.
Minister of Culture
Haifa Al-Najjar told a press
conference that the annual exhibition is part of the Jordanian cultural
project, and like in previous years, it will be held under the slogan
“Jerusalem: The Capital of Palestine,” with the State of Kuwait serving as this
year’s guest of honor.
Jaber Abu Fares, the head of the Jordanian Publishers
Association, said that the book fair, which will be held at the Jordan
Exhibition Center in Makkah Mall, has become the most significant cultural
event in the Kingdom, and a major gathering for Arab and international
publishers.
