AMMAN — On Thursday, Amman Mayor Youssef Al-Shawarbeh announced the launch of
136 new buses and 23 new traffic lanes to serve the people Amman, in
celebration of Amman Day, which falls on March 2 every year.

The
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) had signed an agreement with Turkish company
Auto Car to supply the new buses, which will join another 135 buses already
operating on Amman Bus routes, Al-Saa news reported.
The
buses are designed according to the latest international specifications in
terms of safety features. They operate on diesel and feature electronic payment
systems, internal cameras and screens, and technical specifications to serve
people with disabilities.
GAM
advisors selected the buses in cooperation with the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development.
