AMMAN – On Sunday, Dr.
Yousef Shawarbeh, Amman’s mayor,
announced that the
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) is currently studying the
second phase of the
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). The upcoming project will span
42km, feature three lanes, and connect Sweileh Circle to
Queen Alia International Airport (
QAIA), passing through King Abdullah II Street.

Additionally, during a meeting between GAM and the
Parliamentary Public Services and Transportation Committee, Dr. Shawarbeh
mentioned that the BRT route connecting
Amman and Zarqa is expected to begin
operations by the end of March 2024, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
GAM continues to support the public transportation system,
allocating an annual budget of JD10 million.
