AMMAN
– The mayor of Amman, Yousef Al Shawarbeh, said there will be a
parking fee when parking on the streets of Amman, Khaberni reported.
During a Parliamentary Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Committee meeting, Shawarbeh stated that public parking spaces will be
provided at prices that reflect the employee's income, encouraging people to
use public transportation, which the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) hopes to
develop and improve.
Regarding traffic
congestion, Shawarbeh stated that the Greater Amman Municipality's plan
includes three major projects:
- Smart traffic management involves installing cameras to collect information and data on traffic congestion on a certain street, including peak hours and the number of cars entering the capital from various governorates.
- Preparing outputs to help solve the congestion.
- Finding solutions via artificial intelligence.
