AMMAN—An awareness march was organized today, Friday, on drugs, as part of the national campaign launched by the
Public Security Directorate under the slogan "No to Drugs", according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The Northern Security Region Command, in cooperation with the municipalities, Irbid Governorate Council, education directorates, local security councils, civil society institutions and popular events organized the march, attended by by the Northern Region Security Commander, Brigadier General Dr. Tamer Al-Maaytah, Greater Irbid Municipality mayor Nabil Al-Kofahi, leaders of the security services, representatives from Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash and Mafraq, and hundreds of Jordanians.
Awareness slogans warning of the danger of the drug scourge and its harm to individuals and society were raised.
Brigadier Maaytah said that the initiative aimed to enhance community awareness against the scourge of drugs, stressing the importance of concerted efforts to combat drugs within the framework of everyone's responsibility to protect the society from it.
For his part, Kofahi stressed the importance of the awareness and guidance aspect in avoiding drugs, lauding the Public Security Directorate’s efforts in this aspect and calling for interaction with such initiatives.
