AMMAN — The Department of Antiquities and the
Council for British Research in the Levant signed a
memorandum of understanding on Sunday to institutionalize their partnership,
advance archeological research in Jordan, and safeguard its cultural heritage.

The
Jordan News Agency, Petra, said under the agreement, the department will provide
exhaustive archeological data through surveys, excavations, documentation,
scientific publication, and interpretation. The deal calls for the exchange of
information and documents, the facilitation of projects, activities, and
programs, and technical assistance in developing employees’ capacities through
training and rehabilitation.
