Aqaba - The Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), the investment and development arm of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), has successfully completed the construction and outfitting of the Aqaba International Exhibition Center (AICEC).

This state-of-the-art facility, situated west of King Hussein International Airport, has been built to the highest standards and is set to become a premier venue for events across the Kingdom. The AICEC will make its debut as the host of SOFEX 2024, an internationally renowned defense exhibition.
In a press statement issued Monday, ADC CEO Hussein Al-Safadi expressed his pride in hosting SOFEX 2024 as the inaugural event at the Aqaba International Exhibition Center, highlighting the exhibition's significant regional and global stature.
Al-Safadi emphasized that the new exhibition center is poised to catalyze a transformative shift in the tourism sector within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and throughout Jordan, particularly in the area of events and exhibitions.
He noted that the center would create new job opportunities in this vital sector, marking the beginning of a new phase of tourism growth for Aqaba.
He further underscored that ADC, in collaboration with ASEZA, will continue its efforts to attract prominent international events and exhibitions, which will stimulate economic activity in the region and bolster Jordan's standing as a regional hub for business and tourism.
During SOFEX 2024, the Aqaba Development Corporation will showcase a range of investment opportunities available in Aqaba at a dedicated pavilion and will unveil its new corporate identity, reflecting its ambitions to strengthen its position as a leading investment entity in the Middle East.
Al-Safadi also highlighted key projects recently undertaken by ADC west of King Hussein International Airport, including the Aqaba International Exhibition Center, the Aqaba International Raceway project which aims to position Jordan on the global map of countries hosting international racing events and the Heritage Aircraft Museum, offering a unique opportunity to view an array of military and civilian heritage aircraft.
Currently, ADC is progressing on the "Technology Corridor for Agriculture and Food" project, designed to sustain the region, create jobs, and contribute to Jordan's food security.
Al-Safadi revealed that, in partnership with ASEZA and the Jordan Tourism Board, the Aqaba International Exhibition Center will host the World Wedding and Wedding Planning Exhibition and Conference in October 2025. This global event will bring together the most influential companies and organizers in the wedding industry worldwide.
