AQABA—
AqabaUniversity of Technology and Khalil Al Rahman Charitable Society on Tuesday signed
a memorandum of understanding that will open the door for the society’s high
school students to receive scholarships from the university, according to the
Jordan News Agency, (Petra).

The memorandum was
signed by the university’s president, Muhammad Sanad Abu Darwish, and the
charitable society’s vice president, Mahmoud Al-Natsheh.
The agreement also aimed
at supporting the children of the association’s general body who are successful
in both the Tawjihi (general secondary school certificate examination) and the
intermediate university certificate examination and wish to study at
Aqaba University of Technology for the academic year 2021–2022.
In an interview with Petra,
Abu Darwish said: “This cooperation comes within the plans and aspirations of
the university to provide partnerships, cooperation programs, and grants that
include various groups of society.”
The university
president added that the 50 places will be distributed among the university’s
disciplines, including pharmaceutical sciences, architecture, civil
engineering, artificial intelligence, software engineering, physical therapy,
medical and radiological imaging, business administration, occupational
education, and public safety.
