AMMAN — The port city of Aqaba is
expecting around 150,000 visitors over the Eid al-Fitr holidays, according to
Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the
Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Hamza Hajj Hassan.

Hotel occupancy rates may exceed the
95-percent mark for all
hotel star levels in Aqaba over the long weekend, Hajj
Hassan told Al-Mamlaka TV.
Emergency work planASEZA, in coordination with all agencies,
is ready to
receive all visitors during Eid Al-Fitr, he said. The authority has
installed emergency work plan to ensure the safety and security of all incoming
visitors and maintain the level of services in Aqaba.
Skating festivalMeanwhile, a skating festival in the port
city, which was suspended 20 years ago, has been reinstated.
It will begin on Friday and feature
performances by Jordanian teams over the course of three days, morning,
afternoon, and night.
