Aqaba hotels’ occupancy rates reach 90% this weekend

AMMAN—  Nidal Al-Majali, a commissioner for tourism and environment at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority confirmed that 90 percent of Aqaba hotels were reserved this weekend, as part of a continuous remarkable increase achieved by reservations last week, which recorded 94 percent, according to Al-Ghad News.اضافة اعلان

Majali pointed out that 1.2 million visitors in first eight months of 2022, of whom 630,000 visitors were booked in Aqaba hotels with an average of two-night stay, and more than 170,000 tourists stayed in the Wadi Rum camps, at a time when winter bookings are recording a noticeable increase as a result of the intensified international events and conferences and the return of low-cost air traffic to Aqaba.

 Aqaba welcomes tourists from three European cities through charter flights and on a weekly basis.

Majali lauded the role played by the tourism sector operators partners in promoting Aqaba city, making visitors’ reception programs successful, and enhancing Aqaba’s position on the global tourism map, stressing the need to provide the highest levels of service and professional hospitality that the Jordanian tourism sector is known for.
