AMMAN — Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority on Friday announced that operations on the southern Wadi Araba border crossing have resumed, and that the crossing will be open for foreign tourists crossing over the coming days.

In a statement, the authority also noted that the maritime transport will also return to normal activity for both passengers and cargo through the Aqaba-Nweibei route, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Additionally, one-way truck shipping to Saudi Arabia will resume through Al-Durrah crossing, according to Petra.
All the new decisions will be subject to health requirements and protocols, according to Petra.
According to the authority, these latest decision seeks to re-energize tourism, economic and commercial activity in the southern governorate, stressing the need for all to get inoculated against COVID-19 to render efforts to power the national economy a success.
