Aqaba welcomes MSC Splendida cruise with over 3,400 tourists

AMMAN — The Aqaba cruise ship terminal welcomed MSC Splendida early Tuesday, arriving from the Egyptian port of Safaga with approximately 3,400 tourists from various European and Arab countries, as well as its 1,168 crew members. Winter season sees increased tourist arrivals in AqabaFayez al-Fayez, spokesperson for the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), stated that the arrival of a large number of cruise ships during the winter tourist season confirms Aqaba's status as a Red Sea gateway and a global tourist destination. According to Fayez, the tourists are scheduled to visit the Golden Triangle (Aqaba, Petra, and Wadi Rum) and tour the city of Aqaba, which will contribute to reviving the tourism movement. He further added that ASEZA has provided all necessary logistical services to receive tourists and transport them to historical, archaeological, and tourist areas in the Golden Triangle.
