Arab Universities Association Discusses Higher Education Cooperation in Amman


Amman  – The Executive Council of the Association of Arab Universities convened its first meeting for the 56th session at the General Secretariat headquarters in Amman.اضافة اعلان

The session was chaired by Dr. Bahaa Insaf, President of the University of Baghdad, with the participation of Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association, and council members representing Arab university leaders.

The meeting addressed a comprehensive agenda prepared by the General Secretariat, focusing on current and future programs and activities being implemented by the Association to advance higher education across the Arab world.

Dr. Salama underscored the importance of fostering collaboration among Arab universities to enhance the quality of higher education and scientific research. He emphasized the need to build on previous recommendations and adopt innovative approaches to improve educational standards within Arab institutions.

Dr. Insaf lauded the Association's efforts in crafting a unified vision for Arab academia, highlighting the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education's commitment to supporting the scientific programs and initiatives that contribute to developing and modernizing the Arab higher education system.

The General Secretariat presented various initiatives, including updates on the Arab classification of universities, the Arab Higher Education Region Initiative, and the Arab Knowledge Bank project.

Additional discussions covered proposals such as establishing a cybersecurity center at Amman Ahliyya University, reviewing membership requests from new universities, and examining the Association's estimated budget for 2025.

The council reaffirmed its commitment to fostering knowledge exchange and enhancing academic cooperation to create a better educational future for the Arab region.
