AMMAN — The
Arab ministerial committee to
counter Israeli illegal measures in occupied Jerusalem will hold an emergency
meeting in Amman on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al-Safadi to discuss
Israel’s escalations at Al-Aqsa Mosque and ways to address it, according to
Al-Ghad News.

The committee’s work will begin with a closed
meeting lasting for an hour, followed by a press conference to talk about the
decisions taken at the emergency meeting.
The committee, chaired by Jordan, includes Tunisia,
as chairman of the current Arab Summit, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi
Arabia, and the UAE, as a member of the Security Council. The secretary general
of the Arab League will also attend.
The emergency meeting was agreed to be held in Amman
following consultations held by
Safadi last Monday with committee members in
addition to the foreign minister of the UAE and the secretary-general of the
Arab League.
