AMMAN — President of
Al-Hussein Bin Talal University Atef Al-Kharabsheh said that the research team at Al-Hussein
University and the French Embassy are working on the excavation of
archaeological sites in the southeastern desert, according to Ammon News.

Kharabsheh added that the only site that has been
completed is the recently announced Khashabiya site, noting that work is under
way to approve it as a tourist site.
Kharabsheh said at a press conference held at the
Department of Antiquities to announce the discovery in the Khashabiya area that
the archaeological discovery will contribute to writing the history of Jordan
from the Neolithic era.
He said that the discovery is the result of a 9-year
collaboration with the French Embassy.
