AMMAN — On Thursday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj.Gen. Yousef Huneiti discussed with Commander of the US Central Command, Lieutenant General Michael Eric Corella, and the accompanying delegation aspects of joint military cooperation and collaboration and ways to bolster bilateral cooperation relations to serve the interests of the two countries armed forces, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Speaking at the meeting, Huneiti stressed the "deep-rooted" Jordan-U.S. relations and the extent of continuous joint cooperation in the military fields, by benefiting from mutual expertise and capabilities in the operational, training, and technical areas.
Corella, for his part, stressed the importance of the two armed forces' continuous cooperation, and their keenness to open new channels in the fields of joint military collaboration.
Huneiti and the U.S. delegation listened to military briefings, which highlighted extent of development and modernization of weapons, tasks, and equipment in the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, in line with the region's developments at various levels, according to a JAF statement.
The statement added that these meetings come within the framework of the JAF's efforts to develop its personnel's combat efficiency through cooperation and coordination with friendly and brotherly armies and increase joint exercises.
This drive also seeks to reach the highest levels of combat readiness and preparedness to achieve the desired goals, to maintain the Kingdom's security and stability and contribute to world peace and security, the JAF noted.
