the religious tourism committee at Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents,

According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Rubin said citizens'
demand for umra trips has been growing over the past five months. This growth is driven by
school holidays and “encouraging prices”.
Demand for umra trips is expected to increase during January and February of
this year, he said, calling on concerned authorities to extend the Istidama
program.
Extending Istidama aims to
protect workers and exempt pilgrimage and umra offices from licensing fees or
reduce their amount, he added.
The
price of a umra trip via land ranges between JD260 to JD275 per person in a
quadruple room, he said. The amount includes visa fees, accommodation, and
transportation by modern buses, while cost of air umra trip ranges from JD475
to JD500 per person.
A total of 1,450 buses transported umra pilgrims by land during the past five
months, he noted.
