AMMAN — Jordan’s population
reached 11,310,647 million at the beginning of 2023, according to the
population clock of the Department of Statistics.
This marks nearly a 300,000 people increase
from end of 2021, AmmanNet reported.
In terms of population distribution,
it said that about 8 percent of the population lives in the southern half of
the Kingdom, while 92 percent is distributed in the northwest.
According to the Higher Population
Council, 75 percent of the Kingdom's population lives in three governorates:
the capital Amman, Irbid, and Zarqa, while the rest of the population is
distributed among nine other governorates.
