Amman - The European Banking and Financial Services Training Association has announced the acceptance of the Association of Banks in Jordan as a participating member during the network’s annual meeting, where the membership request was submitted on behalf of the association by its General Director, Maher Mahrouq.اضافة اعلان

In his speech at the General Assembly meeting, Mahrouq highlighted the importance of collaboration with the European Banking Authority and its potential to enhance the work of the Association of Banks in Jordan. He discussed the association’s inception, its services, and the benefits of joining the European network to improve Jordanian banking operations.

Mahrouq emphasized that the Association of Banks in Jordan is now the third Arab member of the European Network, joining institutions from Egypt and Lebanon. This inclusion underscores the significance of the association's role in the regional and international banking community.

He also noted the unanimous support from European network members for the association's membership application, with no objections or abstentions. The application was further backed by three international institutions, reflecting the strong and professional reputation of the Association of Banks and the robust and secure Jordanian banking sector.

The European Network includes numerous countries worldwide, with 34 European members and 8 non-European members. Participating countries include Belgium, Italy, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, India, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, and Canada.

Mahrouq explained that the European Network, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, within the European Union headquarters, is a non-profit organization focused on enhancing education and training in banking and financial services in Europe. It facilitates cooperation among banks, financial institutions, training providers, and educational institutions to improve training and education quality in the sector.

The network also serves as a platform for collaboration in various banking fields, develops standards for specialized training and education programs, and organizes significant banking events and advanced training programs at the international level.
