The Southern Military Region, on its western front and within its area of responsibility, foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone on Sunday evening.

A military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army stated, "Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Region, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone that tried to cross the border from the west to the east." The source explained that engagement rules were applied after the drone was spotted and tracked, and it was dealt with and shot down within Jordanian territory. The seized materials were then handed over to the relevant authorities.
The source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces are working with strength and determination to prevent these drugs from reaching the country's citizens and impacting national security.
