Authorities declare medium emergency starting Sunday

Amman - The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) declared a medium emergency on Saturday effective tomorrow morning, Sunday, ahead of extreme weather conditions.

GAM media department confirmed that municipal teams are fully prepared to respond to any reports received by the main emergency centre in Tlaa Al-Ali. It urged Jordanians to call at 102 and 117180 in for an emergency.

The municipality advised exercising caution and avoiding valleys and low-lying areas.

The municipality also called on contractors and property owners involved in construction projects to secure building materials to prevent them from being washed away and blocking rainwater drainage lines.
