The opening ceremony, held Thursday, was attended by University President Ahmed Fakhri Al-Ajlouni, KOICA Director Soyoung Kim, and the accompanying delegation.

In his speech, Al-Ajlouni highlighted the significance of this new facility as an important addition to the university's infrastructure. He emphasized that it symbolizes the productive international collaboration between the university and the World Friends Korea-KOICA volunteer program.

The new room, outfitted with advanced technology, is not only a space for providing advisory services but also a hub for strengthening international communication and cooperation between the university and its global partners. It is expected to inspire students and open new academic and professional opportunities for them.

Soyoung Kim expressed pride in the partnership with Al-Balqa Applied University, noting that the opening of this room reflects KOICA’s ongoing commitment to supporting higher education in Jordan.

She also expressed hope that the room would provide an encouraging environment for students, motivating them to pursue their academic and professional ambitions, especially in relation to exchange programs.

The room’s establishment came as the result of an idea proposed by Korean volunteer Kang Hong-Min, who has been working with the university’s Cooperation and International Relations Unit for the past year.

This new space will primarily serve students interested in academic exchange, and it has been fully equipped with support from KOICA.

The inauguration was also attended by Zaid Al-Anbar, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dana Mahadin, Director of the Cooperation and International Relations Unit, and the unit’s team.

They all expressed their gratitude to the Korean volunteer and appreciated the ongoing collaboration with KOICA. The new room will not only enhance the university’s services to students but also strengthen its international partnerships, supporting the university’s global vision and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 17, which focuses on fostering global partnerships for sustainable development.
