Baerbock added that “Jordan has been a key partner to Germany, since this safe and prosperous country provides horizons to its people, in addition to it being a clever diplomatic mediator and a pillar of stability.”
“Germany supports Jordan in its mission as a provider of humanitarian aid and in development cooperation,” Baerbock said, pointing out that Germany will never leave Jordan alone in this situation in the future.
The minister added that “Jordan has become a refuge for millions of people in the past decades.”
Germany is considered the second-largest donor to Jordan after the USA, and it has provided Jordan with more than €2.7 billion since 1960.
On October 27, Germany announced the allocation of around €483 million to Jordan in the form of grants, technical aid, and facilitating loans which will be directed to fund development projects in sectors of top priority and to support the Syria crisis response plan.
