AMMAN — Bangladesh Ambassador to Jordan Nahida Sobhan handed over 500 women’s winter clothes to Nadia Shamrukh, the general manager of the Jordanian Women’s Union, on Thursday.

According to a press statement, other officials, including Labor Councilor Mohammad Moniruzzaman from the embassy and other members from the union were present at that event. The winter clothes will be distributed among less-fortunate women from Jordan, Bangladesh, and other nationalities.
The ambassador said that by the direction of the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Bangladesh Embassy will continue to work to ensure the welfare of Jordanians and citizens of other nationalities and thanked the union for their cooperation.
Shamrukh thanked the ambassador and praised the embassy’s initiative for providing the winter clothes.
The Jordanian Women’s Union was established in 1945 and is a non-governmental organization committed to improving women’s status. It is headquartered in Amman.
