Balbisi said that the number of cases is expected to peak by February 20, after which they are expected to decrease, as will the positivity rate, adding that each wave usually lasts six to eight weeks.

Balbisi pointed out that the Ministry of Health had submitted its recommendation to postpone the start of the second school semester till February 20 to the prime minister, and that the matter will be decided upon soon.

He also urged citizens to take the third dose, which is said to raise the immunity rate to 80 percent, adding, however, that the third dose will not be needed to issue the Sanad application.
