AMMAN — Despite the rising number
of COVID-19 cases in Jordan, the situation is under control, Adviser to the
Prime Minister for Health Affairs Adel Al-Balbisi said, according to a local
news outlet.

Balbisi, who is
also responsible for the COVID-19 dossier, said when Jordan recorded more than
4,000 weekly cases of COVID-19, the number of tests was more than 40,000.
Now, with the
number of tests increasing, more COVID-19 cases will be discovered.
He said the
positivity rate last week was lower compared to the week before, adding that 58
COVID patients are currently receiving treatment at hospitals.
Balbisi urged
citizens to take the vaccinations and all precautionary measures to prevent the
spread of the virus.
