AMMAN
— A Cabinet session held on Thursday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr.
Bisher Al-Khasawneh, approved the Public Service and Administration Commission Bylaw for
2023. During the session, the Cabinet decided to grant taxpayers a 70 percent
exemption from fines if they settle their due taxes and fees with
municipalities and the
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) by the end of December 31,
2023.

Furthermore,
the Council approved the recommendations of the Settlement and Reconciliation
Committee to address the tax status of 1,243 companies and taxpayers at the
Income and Sales Tax Department, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
The
Cabinet also decided to settle 20 cases involving
taxpayers and/or violators
with the
Jordan Customs Department. The settlement requires beneficiaries to
pay the full remaining amounts, along with any fees, taxes, or expenses, within
2 months from the date of the decision.
