In a session held on Sunday, the Cabinet said the
bylaw aims at finding legislative texts that allow the
Jordan Customs Department (JCD) to determine the value of customs levied on imported goods, in
line with the Customs Law in force, and international agreements.
The Cabinet also approved the recommendations for
the settlement committee related to settling pending cases between taxpayers
and the Income and
Sales Tax Department of 313 companies and taxpayers, who had
obligations in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the
General Sales Tax Law.
The Cabinet approved committee recommendations on solving
outstanding claims between taxpayers and JCD in settling 20 cases of taxpayers
and violators, provided that if they want to complete the settlements, they
must commit to pay the full amounts due with any fees, taxes or expenses within
a period of two months from announcing this government’s decision
