Amman - A Cabinet session held Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, approved the Drug Testing Bylaw for the year 2024.

The system aims to achieve the requirements of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA)'s accreditation with global pharmaceutical factories certification systems and World Health Organization.
Additionally, the regulation seeks to establish an independent system to test medical supplies, set testing procedures for preparations that contain vitamins, minerals, and natural components, and drugs in approved laboratories.
The bylaw grants the JFDA's accredited laboratories a certificate of "Good Lab Practice," and organize analysis of drugs and medical supplies in contracted labs, approved by the administration.
During its session, the Council of Ministers greenlit the bylaw to test medical supplies, sterilizers, disinfectants, and cosmetics for the year 2024, aimed to regulate the testing terms and procedures for these supplies in the JFDA's laboratory, or its approved or contracted labs.
Moreover, the Council approved the bylaw of shelter centers for persons with disabilities for the year 2024, which regulates terms for renewing their licenses, monitoring measures over them. The system sets conditions for their beneficiaries, and their medical, technical, and administrative staff and determines penalties for violating bodies.
The Council also approved the Banks Licensing Fees Bylaw for the year 2024, aimed to set the amount of fees collected by Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) collects from banks, in accordance with the provisions of its law.
The Council decided to approve the mandating reasons for a draft amended bylaw for practicing the nutrition profession for the year 2024, which sets standards and conditions for its conduct and the scientific and cognitive competencies required for this goal.
On another level, the Council approved recommendations of the settlement and conciliation committee, related to settling pending cases between 37 companies and taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department.
