AMMAN — A report on traffic accidents in 2022 issued by the
Public Security Directorate (PSD) indicated that 117 children died due to
traffic accidents on the roads that year. Meanwhile, in the previous year the number of child victims of car accidents was 151, bringing the number of casualties over the two-year period to nearly 300 children.

Accidents also caused 7,495 people to suffer multiple injuries during 2021 and 2022, including 3,847 pedestrian victims, according to Al-Rai daily.
The numbers revealed that there were 65 severe injuries last year for children and 37 deaths for children who were no older than two years old.
Between the ages of three and five, 17 children died last year due to traffic accidents in Jordan, 51 suffered severe injuries, 306 suffered moderate injuries, and 238 suffered minor injuries.
Between the ages of eight and 11, 31 children lost their lives lost their lives due to traffic accidents. Eighty from the same group suffered severe injuries and more than 600 children suffered moderate injuries.
