Hundreds of worshipers from various parts of the country
participated in the ceremonial Mass led by the Deputy Latin Patriarch in
Jordan, Bishop Jamal Dabees, and attended by Vatican Ambassador Archbishop
Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, along with a number of priests, monks, nuns, and
several church officials, as well as ambassadors from Australia, Argentina, and
Chile, Addustour reported.
Welcoming the arrival of Bishop Dabees were Ajloun Governor
Dr. Qublan Al-Sharif, Ajloun Police Director Colonel Wasfi Al-Azam, Member of
Parliament Fares Haddad, along with local dignitaries from Anjara and Ajloun.
Bishop Dabees delivered the sermon on this festive occasion,
conveying greetings and blessings from His Beatitude Patriarch Pierbattista
Pizzaballa in the Holy Land. He stated, 'From this holy place, the shrine of
Our Lady of the Mountain in Anjara, we raise prayers and supplications to the
Almighty God, seeking His continuous grace for our beloved Jordan, its
progress, prosperity, and for its wise Hashemite leadership and its faithful
and generous people. We pray especially for families, the elderly, the sick, and
all those in need of prayers, as well as for peace among all nations and
peoples.'
At the end of the religious celebration, Archbishop Giovanni
Pietro Dal Toso delivered a speech expressing his joy in participating in the
pilgrimage day to the shrine of Our Lady of the Mountain for the first time
since his appointment as the Papal Nuncio to Jordan. He called upon everyone to
pray for the sanctity of Pope Francis.
Father Joseph Francis, the Latin parish priest in Anjara and
the head of the shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary, also delivered a word of
gratitude on behalf of the clergy, nuns, and the faithful congregation who
participated in the pilgrimage day. He expressed his thanks to Ajloun
Governorate, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Tourism Promotion
Board, and all the security agencies that contributed to the preparations,
along with the scouting groups and choirs in Anjara for their role in
commemorating this annual tradition.
